Sol Bulletin #17
The following is excerpted from issue #17 of the Sol Bulletin, an ad hoc news sheet distributed electronically among survivors of the Battle of Earth in the chaotic period following the firing of the Crucible. Issue #17 was released nineteen days after the Crucible fired.
Persephone Evades Arrest On Luna Despite Alliance Mobilization
Today saw a massive mobilization of Alliance marines on Luna. Residents reported seeing dozens of soldiers in both Aldrin City and Serenity in full tactical gear. A source in Alliance High Command, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the troops were deployed in an attempt to arrest the mysterious Persephone behind the broadcast from Earth several days ago. In that broadcast, Persephone disputed the Alliance's claims about Miranda Lawson and alleged that a conspiracy existed within the Alliance to obfuscate the fate of Commander Jenna Shepard.
Alliance High Command admitted that the troops were part of an effort to capture Persephone, and that the operation failed. Asked why so many troops were deployed, spokesman Lt. Daniel Lucas said that Persephone is a high priority for High Command. "As an associate of Lawson, Persephone may be a member of Cerberus, and is almost certainly Indoctrinated."
Lucas had no comment on Persephone's accusations regarding Lawson and Commander Shepard. He also declined to comment on how so many troops failed to capture one individual.

I've actually read past Alenko's interview, but I have to mention how curious I was about the Persephone angle. Hope you've given away more...
ReplyDeleteGlad you're intrigued! More has come up on Persephone, and yet more will come up soon. That said, not everything about Persephone will necessarily be revealed. Tthe reporters of the Sol Bulletin are on the fringes of the Mass Effect universe, whereas Persephone is pretty serious business. The Sol Bulletin probably won't learn the full truth about Persephone.
DeleteThat said, they definitely will pick up another trick or two, and I'll try to hint at more.
